Tips for Children’s Summer Holiday！

暑假小贴士

Chinese children always look forward to July when their two-month summer holiday begins. So what is there to do during the long holiday besides watching TV at home, sleeping until the noon or playing video games on computer? One would probably regret spending their time on such things during the holiday.

Want to make the holiday interesting and meaningful? Here are some tips.

1. Safety  

Safety always comes first.

中国的孩子们总是盼望着七月，那是他们两个月暑假的开始。那么，除了在家看电视、睡到中午或在电脑上玩电子游戏之外，长假期间还可以做些什么呢？人们可能会后悔在假期里把时间花在这些事情上。

想让假期变得有趣和有意义吗？这里有一些小贴士。

1. 安全

安全永远是第一位的。

2.Traveling around

The point of travelling is self-evident: it's good exercise, it can broaden one's vision, and can help one become more independent…A two-month-long holiday is envied by people who have started a career since they are no longer entitled to such long holidays. So just pack your bag, buy a ticket and start your journey. But for safety's sake, young children better remain in the company of adults.

2. 去旅行

旅行的意义不言而喻：它是一种很好的锻炼，可以开阔视野，并且让人变得独立……两个月的假期令那些上班族羡慕不已，因为他们不再有资格享受如此长假。所以，打包行李，买张票，开始你的旅程吧。但为了安全起见，小孩子最好还是和大人在一起。

3.Reading

Spending a few hours in a library or a book store can fill one's soul. By reading, one can get to know the knowledge that human beings have accumulated for thousands of years. Also it helps one build strong life values. But the premise is reading good books.

3. 阅读

在图书馆或书店呆上几个小时可以充实灵魂。通过阅读，人们可以了解人类几千年来积累的知识。此外，它还有助于建立强大的人生价值观。但前提是读好书。每天也要读英语哈^-^

4. Visiting museums

There are a variety of museums one can choose from, a cultural relic museum offers historical wisdom; a science museum keeps one updated with new technology; a nature museum helps one get to know all kinds of nature creations without going outside.

博物馆种类繁多，文物博物馆提供历史智慧；科学馆不断追逐最新技术；自然博物馆帮助人们不用出门就能了解丰富多彩的大自然万物。

5. Attending summer camps

A summer camp offers an experience different with that in school or at home. It may involve different training such as learning how to take risks, art and even military skills. Whatever it is, one needs to arrange one's life without the help of their parents and learn how to cooperate with their peers. Therefore, a summer camp can help one grow independent and develop a teamwork spirit.

5. 参加夏令营

夏令营提供了一种与学校或家中不同的体验。它可能涉及不同的训练，如学习冒险、艺术甚至军事技能。不管是什么，一个人需要在没有父母帮助的情况下安排自己的生活，并学会如何与同龄人合作。因此，夏令营有助于独立成长，培养团队精神。

6.Working as volunteers

Working as a volunteer in a community, helping farmers with work in rural areas, visiting old people at a nursing house…similar practices can help children learn more about society and become independent.

在社区做志愿者，去乡村协助农民工作，去养老院看望老人……类似活动可以帮助孩子们更多地了解社会，变得独立。

7. Helping parents with housework

Do not take for granted that parents do all the housework. Try to play the role of parents regarding housework and one can understand how hard parents work.

不要想当然地认为所有的家务都是父母该做的。试着在家务方面扮演父母的角色，你就会明白父母的辛苦。

8. Developing an interest

An interest in painting, chess, piano and other things can make one's life more colorful and may also help one develop a future career. So try to find your interest and devote time to it. One will never regret such devotion.

8. 培养兴趣

对绘画、象棋、钢琴和其他事物的兴趣可以使人的生活丰富多彩，也有助于个人未来事业的发展。所以，试着发现自己的兴趣所在，并投入时间。你永远不会后悔为此努力付出过。
